In the heart of Port Moody, British Columbia, our family found itself seeking a meaningful project during the pandemic. As we all experienced the effects of frequent hand washing and sanitizing — dry and cracked skin — we realized we needed a gentler, more nourishing solution. This need marked the beginning of “Daughters & Dad,” a soap company that’s as much about family bonding as it is about natural skincare.

The venture began as a collaborative effort between Chris and his daughters, Isla and Leigh. Chris, drawing on his background in yoga and wellness, aimed to create soaps that were not only kind to the skin but also a delight to the senses. Isla and Leigh, enthusiastic and full of ideas, were eager to experiment with colors, textures, and scents, bringing a youthful energy to the process.

Karen, while not directly involved in the soap-making, played an indispensable role. Her moral support and technical assistance were the backbone that kept “Daughters & Dad” moving forward. Her encouragement and insights were crucial, especially when experiments didn’t go as planned.

Trace, the youngest and full of curiosity, and Clover, our ever-energetic family dog, added their unique touches to our family’s endeavor, often in unexpected and humorous ways.

“Daughters & Dad” evolved from our family’s desire to solve a personal problem and turned into a journey of creativity and learning. Our kitchen transformed into a workshop where each batch of soap was crafted with love and laughter. Isla and Leigh’s passion for the environment and animals inspired us to choose ingredients that were not only gentle on the skin but also eco-friendly.
